"Eleventh Commandment" Anti-Cloning PSA

"Eleventh Commandment" is an unidentified PSA/charity ad against cloning, speculated (but not confirmed) to have been created by Greenpeace in the late 90s. The ad was seen on Mexican television in August of 2002, possibly as a feature on the advertising-focused show Insomnia. Most of Insomnia itself is lost.

Reddit user Crisisaurus has been searching for the PSA for years, describing it as beginning with a petri dish being filled with drips of blood that were each accompanied by one of the biblical commandments. The commandments were possibly written in liquid metal embedded in stone, although Crisisaurus has said they are unsure about this part of their recollection. A woman with dark mascara and white makeup amidst clouds accompanied the first commandment. Then, after the traditional 10, the ad's 11th commandment appears: "Thou shalt not clone". The ad reportedly ended with a Greenpeace logo that turned red.

The LCF has speculated extensively about the PSA, and the details are hard to corroborate. While Greenpeace have spoken out against cloning in the past, there is a possibility that Greenpeace did not make the ad at all and the searcher is conflating it with another PSA shown during Insomnia; the same episode is said to have included 1985's "Dumb Animals", which ends in copious amounts of blood and at least one variant carries Greenpeace branding.

Other anti-cloning literature and organisations have used variations on the "thou shalt not clone" phrase, but no connections to the ad have been found. Due to Insomnia displaying international ads, the country of origin is unknown (though the text is said to have been in English).

How Can I Help?

* Researching anti-cloning campaigns and organisations from the late 90s and early 2000s (this was a prime time for cloning discourse due to the then-recent "Dolly the Sheep" controversy)
* Locating lost episodes of Insomnia. A handful exist on YouTube, but so do many fanmade recreations which are not helpful to this search.
